General Description
The rich tradition of Cuban flavor is easy with Foothill Farms® Cuban Style Black Bean Seasoning & Vegetable Mix. Traditional Cuban-inspired dish (Frijoles Negros) that is often served with rice. The seasoning is a flavorful blend of onion, red and green bell peppers, garlic and spices. Simply add seasoning to water, oil and black beans then heat. They will taste like they were slow simmered all day and will melt in your mouth. Great topped with minced cilantro.
Ingredients
Dehydrated Vegetables (Onion, Red Bell Pepper, Green Bell Pepper, Garlic), Black Bean Powder, Salt, Sugar, Spice, Vinegar Powder (Maltodextrin, White Distilled Vinegar, Modified Food Starch), Soybean Oil.
Directions For Use
Stovetop Directions: In a large pot, combine 3½ cups water, contents of seasoning pouch (4.20 oz), 1/3 cup olive oil and one #10 can unseasoned black beans (drained). Mix well. Bring to a boil for one minute. Reduce heat to low and cook, uncovered, for 15 minutes stirring frequently.
Oven Directions: In a half pan, add 2½ cups water, 1/3 cup olive oil and contents of seasoning packet (4.20 oz) to one #10 can unseasoned black beans (drained). Stir until well blended. Cover and bake in 400°F convection oven for 25-30 minutes or until product reaches a temperature of 180°F.
